Obituary for Edward J. Leach

ALBA – Services for Edward J. Leach, 90, of Alba, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. Mike Blumn and Bro. David Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba.
Mr. Leach passed away Monday, January 12, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Wednesday, October 1, 1924, in Sidon, Arkansas, to the late Joseph Chester and Myrtle Bell Montgomery Leach. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a self-employed home builder in North Dallas and Richardson for 31 years. He moved to Alba 37 years ago and was a member of Lake Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Judy Catherine Smith of Alba; son, Joe Edward Leach of Mineola; 7 grandchildren, Barrett, Tobin, James, Adrienne, Samantha, Elese, and Kalle; and 4 great-grandchildren, Ephraim, James, Ivie, and Brantley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl Leach, Gerald Leach, and Bobby Gene Leach; and sisters, Juanita Overman, Ledith Ellis, Lindell Ellenburg, Bernice Hall, and Virginia McEntire.
Pallbearers are Barrett Keese, James Mountfield, Jason Denniston, Tobin Leach, Ephraim Keese, and Jack Ryan. Honorary pallbearer is Jared Denniston.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m.
