Obituary for Frances Ellen McKenzie (Grumbles)

QUITMAN – Services for Frances Ellen McKenzie, 96, of Quitman, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home chapel, Alba, with Bro. Greg Wright officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba.
Mrs. McKenzie passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016, at a nursing home in Quitman.
She was born Thursday, August 14, 1919, in Rest, Arkansas, to the late James Rufus and Martha Caroline Baker Grumbles. She married Joseph W. McKenzie on February 10, 1940, in Alba, TX. She lived in the Alba area since 1945. She was a teacher in public schools for 20 years and a member of First Baptist Church, Alba.
Survivors include her 2 sons, David Wilson and wife, Teresa McKenzie of Travelers Rest, SC and Darrell Edwin and wife, Jean McKenzie of Rowlett, TX; daughter, Jo Ellen & husband, Frank West of Alba, TX; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years at his death on January 30, 2003, Joseph “Joe” Wilson McKenzie; 7 step-brothers and sisters, Winfred, Nancy Evalina, Jewel, Eli, Ernest, Ruby, and James; 4 brothers and 1 sister, Hugh, Vance, Leland, Lloyd, and Martha Nell; numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hooks, Kelby Hooks, Bryce Hooks, Clint Cooper, Brett McKenzie, and Doug Young.
Family visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m.
