Obituary for Clyde H. Wilson, Jr.

ALBA – Services for Clyde H. Wilson, Jr., 95, of Alba, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Alba United Methodist Church with Rev. Pamela Dountas officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba, under the direction of
Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. Wilson passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016, at a Quitman nursing home.
Clyde was born Monday, March 14, 1921, in Alba, to the late Clyde H. Sr. and Jennie Mae Belk Wilson. He lived in Alba all of his life and served in the Army. He married Dorothy May Kneese on March 22, 1952, at the First United Methodist Church in Fredericksburg. Clyde attended the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and graduated in 1950. He worked as a Funeral Director with his parents and carried on the business when they passed away. Clyde served on the Alba City Council for five terms and two terms as Mayor Pro Tem. He was the fire chief for 15 years and was a member of the Alba United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathy and husband, Brad Valentine of Fredericksburg; 2 grandchildren, Kari Mae and husband, Justin Hummer of Pueblo, CO and Jeffrey and wife, Bailey Valentine of Fort Brag, NC; great-grandson, Jacob Dean Hummer; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Wilson; and sister, Jane Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Greg Wright, Mickey Haisten, Jeff Barnett, Terry Clark, Narwin Gaby, and Douglas Hass.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
