Obituary for James Morgan "Jim" Pitre

James Morgan Pitre, Sr.

ALBA – Memorial services for James “Jim” Morgan Pitre, Sr., 77, of Alba, are scheduled for Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Sand Springs Baptist Church, Mineola, with Bro. Jim Parker and Bro. Nick Kerry officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. Pitre passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016, in Mineola, Texas.
He was born Friday, March 3, 1939, in Knox, Indiana, to the late Morgan Joseph and Rose E. Green Pitre. Jim married Joyce Ann Austgen on September 16, 1968, in Grand Haven, Michigan. He served in the Air Force and had lived in Alba since 1975 after moving from Irving. James was a member of the Texas Draft Horse Association, East Texas Antique Tractor Association, and owned Jim’s Cabinet shop in Emory. He was also a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Joyce Pitre of Alba; four sons, Jim, Jr. & Tracey Pitre of Emory, Joseph Pitre of Nelsonville, Ohio, Rob & Lisa Pitre of Mineola, and Robert & Sherry Arbogast of Grand Saline; two daughters, Gwen Driskill of Alba and Teresa Arbogast of Alba; three brothers, Richard & Connie Pitre of Muskegon, Michigan, Donald & Charlene Pitre of Baldwin, Michigan, and David & Angie Pitre of Muskegon, Michigan; two sisters, Sandy & David Wiegerink of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Phyllis & Brian Sheffer of Muskegon, Michigan; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents; daughters, JoAnne Porter and Suzy Pitre; and granddaughter, Alexandria Pitre.
