Dorthy Riggle (Hudgins)
Services for Dorthy Hudgins Riggle, 83, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Main Street Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Stovall officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Riggle passed away January 8, 2017, in Grand Saline. She was born September 19, 1933, in Wood County to Frank Milton & Fannie Bethena Miller Hudgins. She spent most all of her life in the Alba and Grand Saline area. In the early ‘70s, she started working for Dr. George Marsh as a nurse and worked for him until his retirement. She then began working for Dr. Sherbert. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and their Gleaners Sunday School class. She was also a member of Eastern Star. Dorthy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Billy Frank Riggle; brother, Grady Hudgins; two grandsons, Brian Riggle and Matthew Riggle; and a granddaughter, Malena Spencer.
Survivors include her son, Kurtis Riggle and wife Sandy of Chandler; daughter, Vickie Riggle of Grand Saline; brother, R V Hudgins and wife Reva of Grand Saline; sister, Nadine Phillips and husband Bobby of Alba; three grandchildren, Chucky Riggle of Tyler, Tori Epperson of Brownsboro and Amanda Kindle of Grand Saline; seven great-grandchildren, Aubree, Aydan, Lil D, Aryonna, Mason, Lilly and Corley; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Lanny Dean Hudgins, Rusty Phillips, Kerry Phillips, Keith Miller, Leslie Miller and Ronnie Monk.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
