EMORY – Funeral Services for Richard Lee Harpole, 47, of Emory, are scheduled for Sunday, April 2, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Sand Springs Baptist Church, Mineola, with Bro. Jim Parker officiating.
Burial will be in Golden Cemetery, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. Harpole passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at a hospital in Tyler.
He was born Monday, June 2, 1969, in Mineola, to John Thomas Harpole and Bunny Logan Harpole. He married Sue Loyd on December 10, 1989, in Alba. He served in the Navy for four years during Desert Strom. He was a Paralegal Specialist for the U.S. Department of Justice and lived most of his life in East Texas, but had lived in Emory since 2001. Richard was a full time dad and loved raising his kids. He was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Sue Harpole of Emory; father, John and step-mother Lenette Harpole of Alba; mother, Bunny and step-dad Bryan Wiley of Jackson, Mississippi; son, Anthony Michael “Tony” Harpole of Emory; daughters, Kelsey Marie Harpole of Emory, Kendall Leigh Harpole of Point, and Jericka Scoggins of Emory; and sisters, Jennifer and husband Carey Underwood of Mineola, Misty and husband Thomas Eckerfield of Quantico, VA, and Mandy and husband Joel Campbell of Beckville.
Pallbearers will be Jason Osborn, Tony Harpole, Chris Songer, Dwayne Thompson, David Potts, Colton Potts, Rickey Hass, and Robert Marical.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
