Services for Theo Josephine "Jo" Walls Phillips, 90, of Alba, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2025, at Amazing Grace Fellowship Church, Alba, with Bro. Byron George officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery, Alba.

Mrs. Phillips passed away February 8, 2025, in Mineola. She was born January 31, 1935, in Proctor, to Cleo Calvin and Amanda Minerva Hyatte Walls. Jo lived in the Alba-Golden area for 40 years and was a member of Amazing Grace Fellowship Church. She worked as a physical therapist and enjoyed helping people, she loved people! She loved God and made sure all her children knew the Lord. She was known as “Grandma Peppermint”, “Super Granny”, and “Grandma”. Jo was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 51 years, James Phillips; two sons, Harold Phillips and James Phillips; four brothers, James Walls, Jerry Walls, Cleo Walls, and Billy Walls; and two sisters, Oueita Townson and Bonny Moore.

Survivors include her four sons, Danny Phillips and wife Midge of Alba, Jimmy Phillips and wife Beverly of Alba, Curtis Phillips and wife Betty of Greenville, and Larry Phillips of Alba; four daughters, Lela Jo Sherrin and husband Thomas of Rowlett, Joy Slay and husband Jimmy of Forney, Debbie Phillips of Alba, and Sherry Larsen and husband Edward of Lake Fork; brother, Pete Walls and wife Anna of France; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Michael Anglin, Kenneth Anglin, Dakota Anglin, TJ Deshazo, Brian Deshazo, Hayden Caviness, Scott Phillips, and Eddie Larsen.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
