Services for Jimmy Earl Alexander Jr., 89, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Bartley Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Sand Flat Cemetery.
Mr. Alexander passed away January 30, 2014 at his home. He was born April 12, 1924 in Wise Co. to Jimmy Earl & Maudie Lee Whitus Alexander. He spent his early years in Alba and Grand Saline, 57 years in Dallas Co. and the last eight years in Grand Saline. He worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Melba Alexander; sister, Helen Strebeck; and brother, Edward Alexander.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce & Edith Alexander of Princeton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Pat Crisp of Seven Points, Carolyn & Gary McQueary of Canton and Deborah & Randy Smith of Grand Saline; brother, Douglas Alexander of Grand Saline; sister, Lunell Joyner of Ft. Worth; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dwayne Crisp, Troy Crisp, Chad Waugh, Eric Waugh, Jason Wiggins and Clint Alexander.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
