Services for Phillip Wayne Alexander, 74, of Gilmer, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Winskie officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery.
Mr. Alexander passed away December 25, 2017, at his home in Gilmer. He was born September 28, 1943, in Grand Saline to Cecil Earl & Dorothy Lee Neal Alexander. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. He spent most of his life in Maude and Texarkana, working as a truck driver, before moving to Gilmer 3 years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Cecil Lavonne Alexander.
Survivors include his son, Tommy Alexander of Wills Point; two daughters, Phyllis Rieves and husband Jimmy of Gilmer and Melissa Alexander of Allen; brother, Larry Alexander and wife Kathy of Wills Point; sister, Olean Griffin of Mesquite; seven grandchildren, Branden Alexander, Shannon Ashley, Mikel Stringer, Brittni Prestage, Brooke Rieves, Justin Anderson and Havik Blayne; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Larry Alexander, Branden Alexander, Glynn Neal, Tommy Alexander, Blake Faircloth and Danny Waymire.
The family will receive friends 1 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
