Services for Doug Armstrong, 70 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Silver Lake Baptist Church.
Interment will be in Silver Lake Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Mr. Armstrong passed away December 1, 2012 at his home in Grand Saline. He was born August 28, 1942 in Silver Lake to Marvin Lee & Dorothy Evelyn Wimpy Armstrong. He was born and raised in Silver Lake, and spent many years in Dallas working as a trim carpenter before moving back to Silver Lake 8 years ago. He was a member of Silver Lake Baptist Church. Mr. Armstrong was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Jenny Langley, Peggy Miller and Pauline Armstrong; and brother, Morris Dale Armstrong.
Survivors include son, David Lee Armstrong of Tyler; 2 daughters, Lisa Darlene Woods of Midlothian and Sheila Roman of Grand Prairie; 3 brothers, Charlie Armstrong of Terrell, Glenn Armstrong of Emory and Danny Murphy of Conroe; 2 sisters, Marvon Horton of Emory and Brenda Sue Clark of Kaufman; and several grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday.
