Services for Kayla Danae Ash, 27, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Riverside Mission Church with Bro. Donnie Herring officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Interment will be in in Creagleville Cemetery.
Mrs. Ash passed away February 9, 2021, in Japan, on the Yokota Air Base. She was born August 10, 1993, in Japan, on the Misawa Air Base. Kayla moved to Fruitvale as an infant. She graduated from Fruitvale High School, Class of 2011. On January 14, 2012, she married Michael Ash, they moved to Oklahoma and lived 6 years on the Altus Air Force Base. In 2017, they moved to Japan to live on the Yokota Air Base. Kayla was an animal lover, she fostered, rescued, and rehabilitated animals in need. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dustin Vess.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Ash; parents, Donna and Rusty Vess of Grand Saline; son, Aiden Ash; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Greg and Robbie Ash of Odessa; two brothers, Kenny Mings of Grand Saline and Jared Vess and wife Brooklyn of Palestine; two sisters, Kandice Mings and husband Larry Owens of Grand Saline and Jessica Vess; grandmother, Linda Brown of Fruitvale; and numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Allen, Bronson Brown, Breylan Tarrant, Marshal Melton, Michael Alvizo, and Kevin Strickland.
The family will receive friends, 1 p.m., Thursday, at Riverside Mission Church.
