Services for Freddie Don Ayers, 69, of Grand Saline are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Bartley Funeral Home with Carl McCann officiating.
Interment will be in Haven of Memories, Canton.
Mr. Ayers passed away November 21, 2014 in Grand Saline. He was born April 29, 1945, in Van Zandt County to Curtis and Blanche Gilbert Ayers. He spent most of his life in Van, Ben Wheeler, and Grand Saline. Mr. Ayers worked many years at Unocal in Van and also owned and operated the Grand Saline Quick Stop. He then retired from Goodyear Tire Co. in Terrell. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Barbara Nell Ayers.
Survivors include two sons, Don Maxfield and wife Debbie of Grand Saline and Jeff Maxfield of Irving; one daughter, June Flynn and husband Tracy of Alpharetta, GA; one brother, Larry Ayers and wife Donna of Combine; one sister, Sue Moosburg and husband Jan of Ben Wheeler; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Justin Maxfield, Ryan Maxfield, Micah Maxfield, Tyler Flynn, and T.J. Maxfield.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Sanderson, Sidney Sanderson, Blaine Griffith, and Easton Maxfield.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
