Carmel Barientos

Services for Mr. Carmel Barientos, 89, of Emory, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Bartley Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Jamestown Cemetery.
Mr. Barientos passed away August 7, 2017, in Graham. He was born July 16, 1928, in Crow to Abundio & Josefa Reyes Barientos. He spent 20 years in Chicago, IL before moving to Emory 47 years ago. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; grandson, Harold Wayne Meroney, Jr; and great-grandson, Matthew Meroney.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Barientos of Emory; son, Carmel Barientos, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Shreveport, LA; daughters, Christina Meroney and husband Harold of Fruitvale, Victoria Dunkin and husband Andrew of Australia; four grandchildren, Shelby Parker, Christopher Barientos, Casey Meroney and Mandy Bolin; ten great-grandchildren, Ashton, Trace, Alexandria, Alyssa, Jacob, Aaron, Amber, Autumn, Emilee and Austin; two great-great-grandchildren, Tanner and Trever; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Barientos, Hud Parker, Dean Prather, Mike Riley, Billy York and Vernon Wilson.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
