Memorial services for Philip Barney-Chesnut, 22, of Lewisville, are scheduled for 3 p.m, Saturday, March 17th, 2012 at Caney Creek Cowboy Church (1144 VZCR 1806, Grand Saline, TX 75140) under the direction of the family.
He died Sunday, March 11th, 2012 peacefully in his sleep.
Philip Barney was born January 19th, 1990 in Kyle TX to William Joseph Barney and Sarah (Hoover) Chesnut. He was a young talented youth with limitless potential, full of energy and always a joy to be around. With an ever constant positive outlook on life, he was in high demand with all who knew him as everything was just more exciting with Philip involved. Known always as someone who loved to work with their hands and get dirty, even when not necessary, giving the shirt off his back for anyone in need, and sticking up for anyone who couldn’t defend themselves. He truly is an Angel of his time and is with the Lord watching down on us even now. Reminding us of how infinitely unique he really was and how his heart was so big even in troubled times.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Joseph Barney and is remembered by his numerous loving family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Sarah & Robert Chesnut of Grand Saline; grandparents, Charles Chesnut of Rome, GA, Dan Hoover of Austin and Joy Hoover of Lewisville; brother, Samuel Barney of Grand Saline; sister, Susan Barney of Dallas; two aunts, Lisa Hoover of Lewisville and Debra Myers of Arlington; and two uncles, Norman Chesnut of Broken Arrow, OK and Jack Chesnut of Rome, GA.
The family will receive friends 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, March 17th, 2012 at Bartley Funeral Home (1015 West Wolfe Street Grand Saline, TX 75140).
