MINEOLA – Services for Roy Daniel Bennett, 74, of Mineola, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. James Spurgeon officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Alba.
Roy passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, in a Mineola nursing home.
He was born August 24, 1940, in Wood County, to the late Charlie Edgar and Bammie E. Martin Bennett, and had lived in Wood County since 1992 moving there from Arlington where he lived most of his life. He worked as a sheet metal worker for Keech Metal Works in Dallas for 26 years.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie Belew Bennett of Arlington; daughters, Dana McBride of Genoa, Arkansas, and Lori Curth of Arlington; sisters, Margaret Parrish and husband Robert of Emory and Dora Comer of Granbury; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 8 brothers; 5 sisters; and two sons-in-law.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Gilbreath, Alvin Gilbreath, Larry Gilbreath, Chuck Parrish, Perry Scott, Larry Mansel, Tony Mansel, and Zachery Logan.
Honorary pallbearers are Hayden Hickeson and Ethan Hickeson .
Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
