Services for Pat Rumbelow Blakeley, 93, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Sand Flat Baptist Church, with Bro. Steve Futch officiating.
Interment will follow in Sand Flat Cemetery, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Mrs. Blakeley passed away on February 26, 2025, in Tyler. She was born on November 7, 1931, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Pat spent the majority of her life in the Grand Saline area, where she was a devoted member of Sand Flat Baptist Church. She married Sam Blakeley in 1952.
A graduate of Grand Saline High School, Class of 1949, Pat began her career as a switchboard operator with Bell Telephone in Mineola. While Sam served in the Army, the couple was stationed in Ransomville, New York, where their first daughter, Becky, was born on March 22, 1954. Upon returning to Grand Saline, they settled on the family farm, welcoming their second daughter, June, on June 6, 1955, in Mineola.
Throughout the years, Pat faithfully served her church, teaching various classes and acting as church clerk. She enjoyed traveling, painting, and playing Mahjong.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry & Winnie Blackwell Rumbelow; and her husband, Sam Blakeley, who passed away on September 17, 1981.
Survivors include her two daughters, Becky Blakeley Welch and husband Larry of Hearne, and June Blakeley Ward and husband David of Tyler; four grandchildren, Joshua Welch, Emily Welch, Lauren Bradley and husband Barry, and Jordan Perdue; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Welch, Sean Welch, Aneise Welch, and Abbie Welch; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be David Ward, Larry Welch, Loyd Nations, Barry Bradley, Mark Means, and EW Bruner.
