A Celebration of Life for Mr. Jerry “Red” Bolin, 81, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Donnie Herring and Bro. Mitch Curtis officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery.
Mr. Bolin passed away November 7, 2024, in Tyler. He was born January 20, 1943, in Grand Saline, to Morris & Ludie Marett Bolin. He was a lifelong resident of Grand Saline where he was a charter member of the Grand Saline Youth Foundation and health permitting, he never missed any ball games. He served on the Grand Saline City Council for many years, volunteered on the Grand Saline Fire Department and ambulance services for over 30 years, and was an active member of the “Apple Dumpling Gang”. Red retired from the City of Dallas after 32 years of service. He was passionate about Grand Saline and its residents and was dedicated to serving them. Red is preceded in death by his parents, Morris & Ludie Bolin; wife of 53 years, Glenda Bolin; daughter, DeNita Jean Harley; and brothers-in-law, Pat Rodgers, Danny Boy Rodgers, and James A. Smith.
Survivors include his two sons, Dwayne “Bub” Bolin and wife Tammy of Grand Saline, and Gerald “Scooter” Bolin and wife Mandy of Grand Saline; daughter, Renee Barnes and husband Mike of Wylie; sister, Jackie Smith of Grand Saline; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Rodgers and wife Sandy of Palestine, and Charlie Rodgers and wife Susan of Palestine; twelve grandchildren, Bryar Barnes, B.J. Bolin, Courtney Jones, Brooklyn Holland, Madison Bolin, Tator Bolin, Amber Bolin, Aaron Bolin, Autumn Ward, Emilee Bolin, Meg Jones, and Charlie Bolin; twenty-two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tony Miller, Preston Moore, Brian Dale Milliorn, Fred Lewis, Eugene Bates, Windel Whitus, James Dowdell, William Neal, and Richard Rivera.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryar Barnes, B.J. Bolin, Tator Bolin, Aaron Bolin, Charlie Bolin, Ethan Jones, Bo Holland, Travis Jones, Adam Ward, and Jerry Don Rodgers.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the funeral home.
