ALBA – Services for Lou Faye Nichols Boykin, 87, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Wilson Bartley Funeral Home chapel, Alba, with Bro. Jim Parker officiating.
Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery, Alba, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband of 64 years, O’Neal Boykin.
Mrs. Boykin passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012, at her residence with family and friends present.
She was born November 12, 1924, in the Cottonwood Community to the late Samuel Edward and Paralee Monk Nichols. She was married to O’Neal Boykin on January 10, 1947. They had 4 children.
Survivors include sons, Sammy Boykin and wife Tamara of Big Sandy, and Mike Boykin of Mineola; and daughter, Kay Robertson and husband Randal of Golden; 5 grandchildren and spouses, Scott and Jill Boykin, Brandy and Chad Dorner, Jonathan Boykin, Benjamin and Erica Robertson, and Courtney and Clay Wright; 4 great-grandchildren, Sara Boykin, Jace Boykin, Morgan Dorner and Corbin Dorner, with the 5th “great” on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband O’Neal Boykin, infant daughter Martha Ann Boykin, and multiple siblings.
Pallbearers will be Joe Whitus, Wendal Whitus, Johnny Currey, Brit Byrd, Bill Byford, and Doyle Barlow.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Scott Boykin, Jonathan Boykin, Benjamin Robertson, Chad Dorner, Clay Wright, Jace Boykin and Corbin Dorner.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
