Services for Bill Brand, 75, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 pm, Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Riverside Mission Church with Bro. Donnie Herring officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Starr Cemetery.
Bill passed away June 7, 2017 at his residence in Grand Saline. He was born May 26, 1942 in Kaufman County to Elmer and Dorothy Garrett Brand. Bill was an avid fisherman and lived most of life in the Grand Saline and Fruitvale area. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia “Dink” Wheeler Brand; and son, James Ray Brand.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Julie Chaney of Grand Saline; daughter-in-law, Trena Brand of Fruitvale; brother, Charles Brand and wife Edith of Payne Springs; four sisters, Ruth Fowler of Gilmer, Ida Baker of Terrell, and Mary Baker and husband Jerry of Terrell, and Betty Morgan of Grand Saline; two grandchildren, James Russell Brand and wife Michelle of Fruitvale and Jamie Williams and husband Telley of Brownwood; seven great-grandchildren, Stephon, Jazmine, Harlie, Hunter, JaKayla, JaQuayla, and Adrien; three step-children, Jennifer Love of Grand Saline, Bobby Love and wife Krystal of Grand Saline, and Jeff Love and wife Theresa of Grand Saline; six step-grandchildren, Daniel, Renee’, Amy, Lyndsi, Dylan, and Addison; Jim Dunbar, who thought of Bill as a father; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be David "Popcorn" Alexander, Pedro Ramirez, Mickey Henson, Jimmy Dunbar, Jimmy Trejo, and Bobby Baker.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm, Monday at the funeral home.
