LONE OAK – Services for David G. Brumit, 91, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 11am Friday, at the Lone Oak Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Cook officiating.
Burial will be in Hooker Ridge Cemetery under direction of Bartley Funeral Home of Lone Oak.
Mr. Brumit passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at a nursing home in Greenville.
He was born Sunday, May 1, 1925, in Emory, to the late Robert Martin Sr. and Addie Mae Christopher Brumit. He had lived all of his life in Rains County. David served in the Army and retired from Raytheon in Greenville as a material handler. He was a farmer and a member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors include his 2 sons, David and wife, Linda Brumit of Lone Oak and Benton Brumit of Lone Oak; 3 daughters, Myra and husband, Jimmy Byrd of Grand Prairie, Dari “Rene” and husband, Billy “Bubba” Stewart of Lone Oak, and Drena and husband, Mondel Engler of Bells; 2 brothers, Garl and wife, Sally Brumit of Las Vegas, Nevada, and C.B. and wife, Doris Brumit of Emory; 2 sisters, Donie Weatherly of Sulphur Springs and Louise Moss of Lone Oak; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Minnie Brumit; and son, Tracie Brumit.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Bridges, Brian Barth, Jacob Gregory, Craig Forbes, Jimmy Byrd, and Luke Goode.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
