ALBA – Graveside services for Jessie Jake Brummett, 92, of Bedford, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Dr. Mark Neeley officiating.
Mr. Brummett passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Parkwood Healthcare in Bedford.
He was born Wednesday, November 26, 1924, in Alba to the late Erven Samuel and Ola Mae Williams Brummett. He married Nan Carolyn Griggs on July 17, 1951, in Alba. He served in the Navy for three years during WWII. Jessie retired from Sears Central Service after growing up in Alba and living most of his life in Mineola. He loved all types of music and was an outstanding athlete. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mineola.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nan Brummett of Mineola; sons, Greg and wife, Terrie Brummett of Bedford and Kent and wife, Sandra Brummett of Henderson; grandchildren, Alicia and husband, Tim Brady, Amanda Watson, Adam and wife, Mindy Brummett, and Jeffrey and wife, Emily Brummett; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Faith, Sadie, Sophie, and Hudson; and great-great-grandson, Hoyt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Audrey Hill and Marie Henley; and great-great-granddaughter, Hallie Aleece Brady.
Pallbearers will be Adam Brummett, Tim Brady, Curtis Dowdle, Jess Dowdle, Pat Hill, and Joe Howard Hill.
