Nan Brummett

Services for Nan Carolyn Griggs Brummett are scheduled for 12 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Dr. Mark Neeley officiating.

Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba.

Mrs. Brummett passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023, in Bedford. She was born March 31, 1934, in Sulphur Springs, to Earl Taylor and LaVerne Tommie Hamm Griggs. On July 17, 1951, she married Jessie Jake Brummett in Alba. She lived most of her life in Mineola and was a member of First Baptist Church, Mineola. She loved music, especially that of her two sons. She played the piano for First Baptist Church, Mineola, and First Baptist Church, Alba. Nan was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 65 years, Jessie Brummett; great-great granddaughter, Hallie Aleece Brady; sister, Sara Dowdle; and nephew, Jay Whatley.

Survivors include her two sons, Greg Brummett and wife Terrie of Bedford and Kent Brummett and wife Sandra of Henderson; four grandchildren, Alicia Brady and husband Tim, Amanda Watson, Adam Brummett and wife Mindy, and Jeffrey Brummett and wife Emily; six great-grandchildren; Chloe, Faith, Sadie, Sophie, Hudson, and Theo; three great-great-grandchildren, Hoyt, Greenleigh, and Ferrin; brother-in-law, James Dowdle; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Adam Brummett, Jeff Brummett, Tim Brady, Clay Zamora, Joe Howard Hill, Pat Hill, and Curtis Dowdle.
