YANTIS– Services for Richard Buell Buchanan, 74, of Yantis, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home chapel, Alba, with Bro. Todd McGahee officiating.
Burial will be in Lake Fork Memorial Cemetery, Emory, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. Buchanan passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at a Mineola nursing home.
He was born October 6, 1939, in Harrisburg, Illinois, to the late Richard Challis and Mayme Langford Buchanan. He served in the Air Force. He married Gladys F. Gallia January 24, 1987, in Manvel. He had lived in Gilmer before moving to Yantis 10 years ago. He was a proud member of National Rifle Association and a member of Lake Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Gladys Buchanan of Yantis; sister, Barbara Wilson and husband Alco of Okeechobee, Florida; niece Debbie Huntley of Okeechobee, Florida; and Aunt, Wilma Jackson of Harrisburg, Illinois, and stepson, Richard Krnavek of Rockport.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from. 6–8 p.m.
