Margie Buffington

Mrs. Margie Faye Louise Laird Buffington, 89, of Mineola, passed away April 15, 2025, in Tyler. She was born March 2, 1936, in Riverton, LA, to Joseph Clarence and Eliza Flora Judy Laird. She grew up in Bastrop, LA, went back and forth between Louisiana and Texas for many years before settling in Van Zandt County for the last 40 plus years. On March 2, 1962, she married Wesley Ray Buffington in Bastrop, LA. Margie was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wesley Buffington; sister, Lillian Duff; and infant grandson, James Curtis Burns.

Survivors include her three daughters, Barbara Ann Riley and Patricia Faye Fletcher and husband Jeff all of The Dalles, OR, and Teresa Lynn Burns and husband Mike of Edgewood; sister, Sue Metcalf of Choudrant, LA; eleven grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will have a memorial service honoring Margie at a later date.
