LONE OAK - Services for Lorene Frankie Burns, 94, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2015, at West Tawakoni Church on the Lake, under direction of Bartley’s Lone Oak Funeral Home, with Rev. Ed Adair officiating.
Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery, Lone Oak.
Mrs. Burns passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015, in a Royse City nursing home.
She was born March 24, 1920, in Sulphur Springs, to the late Irvin and Annie Marney. She married Edward F. Burns in 1954 in Dallas. She moved from Dallas to Point 37 years ago. She was a homemaker and sewed on her own sewing machine when she was passed 90 years of age, was a good cook, and loved flowers. She was a member of West Tawakoni Church on the Lake.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Edward Burns of Point; daughter-in-law, Patsy Trapp; 7 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Don Childers, Leroy Childers, and Larry Childers; brothers, Woodrow Marney and Wade Marney; sister, Geraldine Chatham; granddaughters, Donna and Rochelle.
Pallbearers are Brandon Mattison, Chris Childers, Bobby Childers, Jimmy Childers, Jr., Justin Childers, and Jerrell Chatham.
Visitation will be Sunday evening 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
