Services for Jimmy Ray Butler, 87, of Mineola, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Broad Street Church of Christ with Minister Jay Bailey and Minister John Villarreal officiating under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Alba.
Mr. Butler passed away November 30, 2021, in Jacksonville. He was born November 21, 1934, in Alba, to Joseph Claud (Jack) and Georgia Jewel Poston Butler. On June 16, 1956, he married Mary Frances Self in Irving. Jimmy was currently a member of Broad Street Church of Christ, Mineola. He was formerly a member of Legacy Church of Christ, Ft. Worth, where he was an elder for many years. He was passionate about missions and evangelism and was a lifelong learner. Jimmy served in the United States Army, from 1957-1963. He owned and operated Qualistar, Inc. for 27 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Flois Butler.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Butler of Mineola; daughter, Sherry Lynn Casella and husband Geoffrey of Spring; brother, Paul Butler of Lubbock, sister, Linnie Bryant of Hughes Springs; four grandchildren, Jessica Dowell and husband Matthew, Nicklaus Casella, Anthea Hoell and husband Connor, and Daniel Casella and wife Emily; two great-grandchildren, James and Emberleigh, and one on the way; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Casella, Matthew Dowell, Connor Hoell, Garl Latham, Salvador Cariaga, and Roger Lennon.
Honorary pallbearers are Bud Bryant, Phil Alderson, and Quincy DeQueemani.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday, December 10, 2021, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
