Reverend James Edward “Jimmy” Butler, 81, of Tyler, passed away April 25, 2025, in a Tyler hospital. He was born October 2, 1943, in Grand Saline, to Edward Siras “Eddie” & Effie Jewel Alexander Butler. He served in the U.S. Navy, starting in December of 1962, and was stationed in San Diego. Jimmy spent his early years in Grand Saline and then lived most of his life in Tyler, where he was an LVN and wrote a book entitled “There is a Time.”

Mr. Butler is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters.

Survivors include his son, Randall E. Butler; two daughters, Angie Jones, and Angelina Brown; special friends, Bruce & Sue Higgins; and numerous other relatives and friends.
