Timothy Calvert

Services for Timothy Shawn Calvert, 55, of Canton, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Kyle White officiating.

Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Alba.

Mr. Calvert passed away May 5, 2023, in Canton. He was born September 14, 1967, in Dallas, to Thomas Allen and Ida Cecelia Meade Calvert, Sr. Tim lived most of his life in the Alba and Grand Saline area. He worked in the oilfield as a driller for Nabors Drilling and also as a directional driller for Ryan Directional Services. He loved to go hunting and fishing, especially with his sons. He was a good cook and enjoyed preparing deer and fish. His favorite NFL Football team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has been a lifelong fan of the Steelers since he was a child. Tim was preceded in death by his father; Thomas Allen Calvert, Sr.; brother, Kevin Dawn Calvert; and sister, Tamila Defawn Guidry.

Survivors include his mother, Ida Cecelia Leach; three sons, Timothy Joe Calvert of Willis, Derek Shawn Calvert of Grand Saline, and Dylan Joseph Calvert of Grand Saline; three brothers, Mikell Allen Calvert, Thomas Allen Calvert, Jr., and William Anthony Calvert; sister, Maggie Lou Calvert; mother of his children and former wife of 30 years, Paula Annette Calvert; girlfriend, Christina Lorene Lovell; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
