Carlos Eugene Howell

Services for Carlos Eugene Howell, 90, of Lindale, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Jim Parker officiating.

Interment will be in Pilgrim Rest #2 Cemetery, Golden.

Mr. Howell passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Lindale. He was born in Red River County to Gilbert Lebon and Flossie Pearl Pearce Howell. On August 25, 1960, he married Audrey Jean Abar in Brownfield, Texas. Together, they moved to East Texas in 1981. Carlos worked 21 years for AR Contractors of Ft. Worth. His other occupations included being a pilot, a truck driver, and a police officer. He enjoyed fishing, watching Gunsmoke and any other black and white western. He was a jack of all trades. He could fix anything, take it apart completely and put it back together. Carlos was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church, Mineola. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 64 years, Jeannie Howell; two brothers, Wayne Howell and Donald Howell; and two sisters, Barbara Scoggins and Carol McFarland.

Survivors include his two sons, and David Howell and wife Teresa of Aubrey and Ronnie Howell and wife Richelle of Lindale; three daughters, Kathleen Slemmons and husband Dan of Ft. Worth, Deborah McCommas and husband Ronnie of Marble Falls, and Carla Jean Fortenberry and husband Chris of Everman; brother, Keith Howell and wife Lee of Weatherford; sister, Delilah Murray of Euless; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Philip Howell, Harrison Howell, Ronnie McCommas, Chris Fortenberry, Troy McFarland, and Kevin Simmons.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
