Services for Debbie Warner Carnes “Noni”, 70, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Cody Mize officiating. Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.

Mrs. Carnes passed away September 8, 2022, in Tyler. She was born June 1, 1952, in Grand Prairie, to Elmer & Lathel Lisa Wolford Warner. Debbie graduated from Alvarado High School, Class of 1970. She married Ray Carnes on August 28, 1976, in Grand Saline, where she has lived for the last 50 years. She retired from teaching after 42 years of service to Grand Saline ISD and Fruitvale ISD, as a Home Economics/Family Consumer Science teacher. Debbie loved to travel and especially enjoyed cooking for others as she did with her catering business for many years. She loved having her traditional “Christmas Tea”, loved holidays, and especially enjoyed her grandson, Cruz, who was her pride and joy. She was an FHA/FCCLA sponsor, a Girl Scout leader for both Tara and Cara, a member of the Athena Club for 19 years, and was very active with the Salt Pageant during the Grand Saline Salt Festival.

Debbie is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ronda Woodall; grandmother, Rosalie Hinton; and mother-in-law, Peggy Lou Carnes.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Ray Carnes of Grand Saline; father-in-law, James Carnes, Jr. of Fruitvale; daughter, Cara Jordan and husband Casey of Grand Saline; sister, Tara McBeath of Grand Saline; grandson, Cruz Jordan; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Andy Gibson, Jim Lea, Cody Woodall, Jonathan LaPrade, Jaron Cude, Tommy Watson, and Steve Kovar.

Memorials may be made in memory of Debbie to GSISD CTE (Career & Technology Education) or the Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, TX 75701.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the funeral home.

Debbie’s family would like to invite family and friends to come celebrate and remember her, after the service on Sunday, at the Old School Museum in Grand Saline.
