Services for Ruby Lee Cogswell Carpenter, 89, of Euless, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Bartley Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Dodds officiating.
Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Mrs. Carpenter passed away December 18, 2013 in Bedford. She was born August 16, 1924 in Mt. Pleasant to Dolph & Maudie Lou Evans Cogswell. She spent her early years in Mt. Pleasant and Crockett before moving to Euless 53 years ago. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rodolph Carpenter; son, Marvin Carpenter; brother, Donald Cogswell; three sisters, Irene Carpenter, Joan Haney and Winnie Lou Hardin.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Carpenter of Lynnwood, WA, Marshal Carpenter of Euless and Jerry Carpenter of Beaumont; two daughters and sons-in-law, Trina & Andy Sweet of Bullard and Marsha & David Hodges of Eustace; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald & Patty Cogswell of California; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Marie Gay of Linden, Fern & Earl Mitchell of Haltom City and Shirley Davis of Tool; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Scott Sweet, Andy Sweet, David Hodges, Chris Carpenter, Mitchell Mason and Craig Hodges.
Memorials may be made the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
