Services for Mrs. Anita Palmer Carroll, 82, of Canton, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2024, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Kyle White officiating.
Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery, Alba.
Mrs. Carroll passed away March 5, 2024, at her home in Canton. She was born April 2, 1941, in Bardwell, Kentucky, to James H & Eudela McCoy Chandler. Anita spent most of her life in the Dallas, TX, area, where she worked for and retired from Club Corp. She lived her life as a brave and adventurous woman, even flying planes as a hobby when she was younger and doing aerobatics. She was a proud member of The Ninety-Nines, an organization of licensed women pilots from 44 different countries. Anita spent the last 20 years in Wood Co. and Van Zandt Co. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Palmer; sister, Nadene Johnson; foster-daughter, Billie Jo Burgamy; and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Chandler.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Carroll of Canton; two sons, John Palmer and wife Julie of St. Simon's Island, GA, and Douglas Wayne Carroll, Jr. of Arlington; two daughters, Nita Jo Palmer of Troup, and Jennifer Bier and husband David of Madison, AL; brother, James Chandler of Salisbury, MD; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be men of the Church of Christ, Charles Giesecke, Rex White, Danny Milam, Larry Jackson, Bill Culp, and Floyd Brown.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the funeral home.
