Services for Mr. Orvin Lee Carroll, 77, of Alba, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba, with Bro. David Hendricks officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery, Grand Saline.
Mr. Carroll passed away December 9, 2024, in Grand Saline. He was born June 11, 1947, in Grand Saline, to Eugene & Dorothy Nance Carroll. He was raised in Grand Saline and graduated from GSHS. He attended TJC for 2 years and served in the US Army from 1969-1972. He spent the last 45 years in Alba where he was a member of Pilgrim Rest No. 2 Baptist Church, Golden. He was a heavy equipment operator and job supervisor for Reid Construction for many years, served for about 25 years on the Alba City Council, and served as Mayor of Alba. Orvin was an avid deer hunter and loved riding four-wheeler trails in Colorado. He was also very appreciative of the VA hospital and how they helped him through life. Orvin was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Sammy Carroll and Loy Carroll; sister, Retha Faye Hughes; and two sisters-in-law, Alva Caroll and Anita Carroll.
Survivors include his two brothers, Ellis Carroll and wife Dottie of Edgewood, and Doug Carroll of Madison, Alabama; brother-in-law, Larry Hughes of Golden; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Memorials may be made to Woodside Cemetery, P.O. Box 543 Grand Saline, TX,75140, in his honor.
