Services for Charles “Charlie” Richard Adams, 75, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Main Street Baptist Church, with Pastor Taylor Rogers and Pastor David Crain officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.
Mr. Adams passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, in Wills Point, Texas, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Charlie was born on January 7, 1950, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Charlie Henry and Sarah Rubye Suiter Adams. He spent his early years in Wichita Falls and graduated from Wichita Falls High School with the Class of 1968. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Midwestern State University.
On July 30, 1983, Charlie married the love of his life, Alice Kindle, in Rockwall, Texas. Together, they shared over four decades of marriage filled with love, devotion, and shared purpose.
Charlie dedicated many years to a successful career in the oil and gas industry before retiring. He lived in the Dallas area for 15 years before settling in Grand Saline, where he and Alice made their home for the past 27 years. A man of faith, Charlie was formerly a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas and most recently a devoted member of Main Street Baptist Church in Grand Saline.
Charlie had a heart for children and a special love for dogs. Above all, he cherished spending time with Alice, his beloved wife and constant companion. His kind spirit, warm heart, and unwavering faith left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
After his long struggle with Alzheimer’s, Charlie entered into eternity with his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 42 years, Alice Adams of Grand Saline; mother-in-law, Alma Sue Kindle of Grand Saline; son, Martin Charles Hayward and wife Emily of Ft. Myers, Florida; daughter, Lynn Elizabeth Kennedy and husband Phil of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two sisters, Charlotte Ann Mendenhall of Wichita Falls, and Bette Jean Lowry of Elk City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Barton Kennedy and wife Jhune, Ross Kennedy, Elizabeth Kennedy, and Charlie Ann Hayward; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
