Charles Joseph Meagley

Services for Charles “Charlie” Joseph Meagley, 45, of Gilmer, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2026, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home in Alba.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Alba.

Charlie passed away October 13, 2026, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born April 13, 1981, in Longview, to Addison Charles and Barbara Jean Williams Meagley. He spent most of his life in Gilmer, where he built a life surrounded by family and the people who meant so much to him.

On May 13, 2020, Charlie married Courtney Linnea McCathern, beginning a chapter of life with his beloved wife and family. He worked as a security guard and took great pride in his work, showing dedication to his responsibilities. Outside of work, he enjoyed playing video games and, most importantly, spending time with his family. He also held a special affection for his aunt, lovingly known as “Snoopy Dog,” whose place in his heart was uniquely her own.

Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Addison Charles Meagley; and brother, Scott Meagley.

Survivors include his wife, Courtney Meagley of Gilmer; mother, Barbara Meagley of Gilmer; stepfather, Ruben Vega of Gilmer; son, Knightly Meagley of Pittsburg; daughter, Kirsten Dyer and husband Ashton of Longview; three stepdaughters, Ezrianna Hunter, Alyssa Hunter, and Sofia Hunter all of Gilmer; two grandchildren, Theo Dyer and Evie Dyer; two brothers, Dustin Meagley of Gilmer and Jeff Meagley of Denver, Colorado; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Charlie’s family finds comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the gift of organ donation. His generosity has given others the precious gift of life, ensuring that a part of him continues to live on in the lives he touched. His legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

Pallbearers will be Knightly Meagley, Dustin Meagley, Jeff Meagley, Kelly Cole, Richard Hughes, and Ronald Harris.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to service time.
