Services for Mr. Owen Leon Clowers, 91, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Winskie officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.
Mr. Clowers passed away February 17, 2016, in Tyler. He was born March 11, 1924, in Mesquite to Roy Houston & Ruth Velma Davidson Clowers. He served in the US Army during WWII and lived in Grand Saline for over 50 years. He built, owned, and operated the Grismill for many years. Leon was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janie Ingram; and brother, James Clowers.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Clowers of Grand Saline; step-son, Don Yarbrough and his wife Angie of Grand Saline; step-daughters, Barbara Garland and her husband Wiley of Grand Saline, Susan Beasley of Grand Saline; brothers, Floyd Clowers of Mesquite and Buddy Clowers of Grand Saline; sister, Imogene Tumey of Fate; three grandchildren, Leanne & Johnathan Browning of Tyler, Sarah & Chance Ballard of Grand Saline, and Rachel Beasley of Grand Saline; two great-grandchildren, Gage Ballard and Landrey Browning; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Benny Hollowell, Harry Clifford, John Hodges, Wayne Sloan, Bob Gray and Ferd Maciel.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
