Allen “Joe” Colegrove
MINEOLA – Graveside services for Allen “Joe” Colegrove, 78, of Mineola, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at Elm Grove Cemetery, Mabank, with Pastor Milton Spears officiating, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Mr. Colegrove passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012, in a Tyler hospice facility.
He was born March 9, 1934, in Kaufman County to the late Hubert F. and Carrie Jane Grimes Colegrove. He married Joyce Marie Gaddis June 25, 1954, in Mesquite. He spent most of his life in Mesquite and had lived in Mineola for the last 22 years. He was a ceramic tile contractor and a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Mineola.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Royce Colegrove and Gene Colegrove; and sister, Billie Gault.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joyce Colegrove of Mineola; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and JoAnn Colegrove and Johnny and Debbie Colegrove all of Mineola; sister, and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Ray Stuart of Streetman; grandson, Stephen Colegrove of Mineola; granddaughters and spouses, Laurie and Josh Deen, and Alicia and Jake Hopps all of Mineola; and great grandson, Conner Deen.
Honorary pallbearers are Stephen Colegrove, Jake Hopps and Josh Deen.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening 6-8 at the funeral home.
