Services for Ailton Craine, 78, of Dallas, are scheduled for, 2 p.m., Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Eddie Paul Stanley officiating.
Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery, Emory.
Mr. Craine passed away October 26, 2023, at his residence in Dallas. He was born September 2, 1945, in Indianapolis, IN, to Virgil and Helen Tatum Craine. Ailton had lived the last 36 years in Dallas. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years in construction as a concrete finisher, pipe insulator, and a sheet rocker. In his younger days he ran a milk and a paper route. Ailton was a member of the APA Pool League. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth Douglas Craine; brothers, Calvin Craine, Tommy Craine, Dwayne Craine, and Timothy Craine; sisters Louise Willis and Alfreda Powers.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Helen Craine of Dallas; son, Stacy Craine and wife Terri of Kaufman; stepson, Sammy Mack Robinson and wife Sandra of Dallas; daughter, Diane Carroll and husband Jimmy of Elmo; stepdaughter, Sheila Lambeth and husband Randy of Scurry; sister, Charlotte Fox of Dewitt, AR; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be David Brasher, Cody Akins, Roy Glenn Akins, Gary Stanley, Luke Craine, and Grayson Craine.
The family will receive friends 1 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
