Genelle Crocker
Services for Mrs. Genelle Crocker, 82 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Main Street Baptist Church with Bro. Ronald Cantrell officiating under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery.
Mrs. Crocker passed away April 16, 2013 in Grand Saline. She was born August 15, 1930 in Van to Leroy & Vada Stewart Humphrey. In her early years, she worked at the Grand Saline Sun and a sewing factory in Mineola. She later became a housewife and was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and their Rejoicers Sunday School class and formerly a member of their Friendship Sunday School Class. While a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class, she volunteered with projects that supplied Christmas gifts to each resident of Azalea Trail Care Center. She was given the Azalea Trail Hometown Hero award for her service. She also helped the class with donations throughout the year to the Juvenile Detention Center. She enjoyed being a member of the Red Hats, Grand Saline Study Club, Salt City TEEA, Fun After Fifty Five, Garden Club and Friends of the Old School. She also served as a board member of the Save the Pool organization of Grand Saline. Mrs. Crocker loved to volunteer and helped wherever she was needed. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Peggy Meador.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Billy Crocker of Grand Saline; two sons, Tim Crocker and Danny Crocker, both of Grand Saline; two sisters, Virginia Grier and Janie Waddill, both of Grand Saline; three grandchildren, Jill Medina, Chance Crocker and Lindi Crocker; three great-grandchildren, Danny Lee Crocker, Madeline Genelle Medina and Lizzie Medina; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Gray, Wayne Meador, Mark Means, Travis Hastings, Butch Grier, and Johnny Hill.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
