Dana Marie Wright

Dana Marie Wright, 67, of Lone Oak, passed away August 11, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born July 17, 1959, in Marrero, Louisiana, to Robert Joseph and Joyce Ann Savoie Sevin. Dana spent most of her life in Midland, where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School with the Class of 1977. She married Monte Wright on July 22, 1978.

Dana and Monte also lived in Longview for several years before moving to Lone Oak eight years ago. She retired from Sam’s Club after 17 years of service and later spent several years working in home healthcare.

One of Dana’s favorite places to visit with her family was Grand Isle, Louisiana. She had recently returned there for her birthday, where she enjoyed one of her favorite pastimes—beachcombing for "lucky beans".

She was a true spitfire—strong-willed, fiercely independent, and never afraid to speak her mind. She loved deeply, lived life on her own terms, and had a personality that could fill any room. Those who knew her knew exactly where they stood, and those lucky enough to be loved by her knew just how fiercely she loved. Her strength, wit, stubborn streak, and unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed.

Dana Marie is preceded in death by her father, Robert Joseph Sevin; and her in-laws, Maxine Henderson and Robert Henderson.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Monte Wright of Lone Oak; mother, Joyce Sevin of Lafayette, LA; son, David Wright (Diana Noth) of Lone Oak; daughter, Melissa McClure (Brock) of Katy; daughter-in-law, Sue Wright of Ft. Worth; three brothers, Robert “T-Bob” Sevin, Jr. (Sue) of Richmond, Brian “Beef” Sevin (Debbie) of LaGrange, and Keith “Bum” Sevin (Tina) of Humble; three grandchildren, Alyson Wright, Madison Wright, and Adelyn Noth; and numerous other relatives and friends.
