Services for Benjamin Darnell, 73 of Carson, CA, formerly of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2012 at Sand Flat Baptist Church with Pastor Lyonel Cotanda officiating.
Interment will follow in Sand Flat Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline.
Mr. Darnell passed away June 9, 2012 in California. He was born August 7, 1938 in Grand Saline to Henry & Muriel Avery Darnell. He spent his early years in Grand Saline and the last 10 years in California. He spent 40 years in the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force and retired as a Major Commissioned. He was a member of the Ambassador for Christ Church. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Darnell of Carson, CA; sons, Howard Darnell of Oklahoma and John Darnell of Los Angeles, CA; grandchild, Matthew Darnell; cousins, Barry & Mavis Blakely of Grand Saline, David & Kathy Darnell of Grand Saline; Jimmy & Judy Darnell of Grand Saline; and numerous other relatives and friends.
