David W. Buchanan

Mr. David Washington Buchanan, 95, of Grand Saline, passed away July 24, 2026, in Canton.

He was born October 4, 1930, in Alba, to William Howard Buchanan and Naomi Elizabeth Ross Buchanan. David served in the U.S. Air Force from 1949 to 1953, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He married Jimmie Lou McCain in Greenville in 1968. He retired from LTV Energy Products in Garland after more than 30 years as a Senior Sales Representative. David was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Shriners, VFW, and First Church of the Nazarene in Grand Saline.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Buchanan; daughter, Shelley Huddleston; brothers, Jerome Buchanan and William "Bill" Buchanan; and sisters, Mildred Lewers, Johnnie Nichols, and Lottie Shrum.

Survivors include his wife of almost 58 years, Jimmie Lou McCain Buchanan of Grand Saline; sons, Byron Buchanan & husband Michael Eiden of Houston, and Richard McCallum & wife Holly of Point; grandsons, John Buchanan and Joseph Buchanan; granddaughters, Danielle Huddleston and Raven McCallum; and numerous other relatives and friends.
