Services for Jimmy Clyde Davis, 68, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 12 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2015, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Lindsey Ray and Bro. Eddie Paul Stanley officiating.
Interment will follow in Corinth Cemetery.
Mr. Davis passed away September 8, 2015, at his home in Grand Saline. He was born February 14, 1947, in Grand Saline, to Jimmie Melvin and Ruth Tunnell Davis. He lived all of his life in Grand Saline where he was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and worked as a carpenter. Mr. Davis served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967 during Vietnam. He was a member of VFW Post 6635 and Texas Manx Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers-in-law, Charles Splawn and Johnny Kimmel.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Donna Whitus Davis of Grand Saline; three daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa & Pat Jordan of Edom, Stacy & Johnny Foster of Edgewood and Janet & Bowdy Gilchrist of Van; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin & Janelle Davis of Canton, Raymond & Jo Davis of Grand Saline and Tommy & Betty Davis of Grand Saline; two sisters and brother-in-law, Billie & Dalton Mayne of Seagoville and Sue Kimmel of Canton; ten grandchildren, Nathan & Val Jordan, David Darby, Cody Davis & Jaycee Hass, Chase & Amberly Poland, Joe & Emily Avery, Ashley Mosley, Brailey Cheaney, Jillian Gilchrist, Brock Gilchrist and Sami Gilchrist; three great-grandchildren, Livia Jordan, Fallon Davis and Hadlee Davis; and numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Joey Davis, Rodney Davis, Aaron Ray, Roger West, Bill Bogue, Brandon Davis and Cody Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Tuthill, Raymond Tuthill, Joe Avery and Chase Poland.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday at Bartley Funeral Home.
