Robert Dawson

A Celebration of Life for Robert Lindsey “Bob” Dawson, 80, of Mineola, is scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2023, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Mr. Dawson passed away January 24, 2023, in Tyler. He was born August 18, 1942, in Alba to Dewey Hampton and Mozelle Tucker Dawson. Bob lived all his life in the Wood County area. On July 27, 1984, he married Barbara Jean Loyd in Mineola. Bob served in the United States Army. He worked for many years as a petroleum drilling foreman and enjoyed golf, tennis, and football. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dewey Dawson, Jr., infant sister, Mary Ann Dawson, and grandson, Randy LeBus.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Barbara Dawson of Mineola; son, Wade Murdock and wife Joanie of Golden; daughter, Suzie LeBus and husband Jack of Longview; brother, Carroll Dawson and wife Sharon of Dallas; sister, Linda Earnheart of Yantis; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Kasie, Kalei, Sarah, Angela, and John; ten great-grandchildren; three nephews; one niece; and numerous other relatives and friends.
