MINEOLA – Memorial services for Ruthie Mae Gordon Day, 93, of Mineola, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mineola, under the direction of the family, with Chester Brown officiating.
Burial arrangements in Salem Cemetery, Alba, are under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.
Ms. Day passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018, in Mineola.
She was born October 28, 1924, in Fort Worth, to the late Andrew Kelsey and Ethel Bernice Gordineer Gordon. She married Marshall Neal Day on September 27, 1941, in Tarrant County. Ruthie lived in Mineola since 1976 and was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include her sons, Jimmy Allen Day of Mississippi, Danny Mike and wife Sarah Day of Philippines, and Gary Wayne and wife Joanna Day of Austin; daughter, Carol and husband Ed Millirons of Mineola; brother, Tommy and wife Katherine Gordon of Huntington; brother, Bobby Morales; sisters, Dorothy of Washington State, Soretta Myrick of Shreveport, Louisiana, Wanda and husband Dale Rineheart of Waskom, Jessica Nadine Morales of Missouri and Earlene Guel of Fort Worth; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, Marshall Day; daughter, Gloria Jean Day; son, Marshall Day, Jr.; brothers, Jimmy Gordon and Donald Gordon; and sisters, Betty Jo Craig and Annette Hampton.
There will be no family visitation.
