Services for Mr. Harry Porter Denig, 88 of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2011 at Creagleville Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mr. Denig passed away December 12, 2011 in Grand Saline. He was born May 21, 1923 in Columbus, OH to Clarence Jacob & Mary Elizabeth Dowdy Denig. He pastured two churches in Ohio, four in Texas and two in Arizona. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and had lived in Grand Saline for the last 30 years. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Beverly Ann Jones and Marilyn Sue Carpenter; sister, Mary Lois Bell; and brothers, Wesley William Denig, Jack Denig and Cloyce Denig.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Denig of Grand Saline; two sons, Bill Denig and wife Denise of Plano and Daniel Douglas Denig and wife Jennifer of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Debra Jane Clower and husband Robert of Grand Saline; sister, Ruthie Grubba and husband Gerald of OH; sister-in-law, Louise Denig of WA; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene of Grand Saline.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
