Jimmy Dickinson
Services for Mr. Jimmy Dickinson, 71 of Commerce, formerly of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2012 at Bartley Funeral Home with Rev. James Massey officiating.
Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mr. Dickinson passed away December 28, 2012 in Dallas. He was born October 13, 1941 in Grand Saline to Ralph & Lorena Neal Dickinson. He retired from the US Army where he served during Vietnam. He received the Purple Heart for his service in Vietnam. He spent his early years in Grand Saline and had lived in Commerce for the last 22 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorena Marshall.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Carol Dickinson of Commerce; son, Jimmy Dickinson II and wife Celeste of Odessa; daughter, Zora Stoll and husband Derek of El Paso; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy & Darrell Boltin of Terrell, Mary Jane Thacker of New Orleans, LA and Vickie & Steve Franklin of Sanford, NC; four grandchildren, Gabriella, Zach, Lyndsey and Brooke; one great-grandchild, G.G. Mattea; three aunts, Willie Mae Woods, Dessie Neal and Jerrell Dean Saunders.
Pallbearers will be Billy Gilchrist, Tracy Rodden, Paul Armstrong, Chuck Armstrong, William Lynch and Billy Lovett.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
