TYLER – Graveside services for Elsie Ruth Ferguson Dobbs, 76, of Tyler, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Sand Springs Cemetery, Mineola, under direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, with Rev. Jasen Thomas officiating.
Ms. Dobbs passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018, in Tyler.
She was born March 6, 1942, in Wood County, to the late Olen Columbus and Rose Geneva Morgan Ferguson. Elsie was raised in the Alba area and was a Custodian in the Irving, Texas, and Reno, Nevada, Public Schools. She was also a member of the Church Under a Bridge, Tyler.
Survivors include her son, James Martin Dobbs of Mineola; adopted son, Jimbeaux Whitaker of Tyler; daughter, Rebecca Ruth Vaughn of Tyler; sister, Wanda Ferguson of Tyler; grandchildren, Jessie Daniel Langria, Franklin Bassett, and Ivan Bassett; nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thurmon Martin Dobbs; and two brothers, Olen Ray Ferguson and Charles Holland Farris.
Pallbearers will be Jessie Langria, Frank Bassett, Wayne Dale, Richard McGill, and Ivan Bassett.
