LONE OAK – Funeral services for Ben Chanewith Dooley, 93, of Lone Oak, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Bull Creek Cowboy Church, Lone Oak, with Bro. Tom Witt and Bro. Robert Cook officiating, under the direction of Bartley’s Lone Oak Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Prairie Valley Cemetery, Lone Oak.
Mr. Dooley passed away October 14, 2018, at his residence in Lone Oak.
He was born July 7, 1925, in Lone Oak, to the late Robert Thompson and Carrie Lillian Mackey Dooley. Ben married Mary Lee Fortenberry on April 16, 1954, in Lone Oak. He lived all his life in Lone Oak and was an Aircraft Inspector. He retired from E Systems in Greenville after 35 years. Ben was a member and a deacon at Prairie Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary Dooley of Lone Oak; sons, Gary and wife Debbie Dooley of Lone Oak and Terry and wife Marva Dooley of Campbell; daughter, Susan and husband Kevin Hoefar of Lone Oak; sister, Betty Davies of Lone Oak; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Tula Douglas and Bobbie Harris; brothers, Martin Dooley and R.T. Dooley; and great-grandson, Landon Ryan Nix.
Pallbearers will be Rudy Douglas, Mark Davies, Jim Edd Moore, Ray Dooley, Doug Williams, and Robert Byrd.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at the funeral home.
The family wants to express appreciation to the Bull Creek Cowboy Church for the use of their facilities.
