Clyde Dowdle Sr

Services for Mr. Clyde Dowdle Sr., 84, of Hideaway, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline, with Bro. Bruce Rudd officiating.
Mr. Dowdle passed away July 23, 2020, in Tyler. He was born December 15, 1935, in Mabank, to Irvine Fleetwood "Jack" & Vesta Humphries Dowdle. He was a member of Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church and had lived in Hideaway for the last 20 years. He served as Finance Chairman and Deacon at his church for many years. Clyde also owned & operated Dowdle Motor Sales for 45 years, loved to hunt, and was a football official for 28 years. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Thelma Stephens Dowdle of Hideaway; son, Allen Dowdle of Tyler; daughter, Cindi Stalsworth of Dallas; brother, James Dowdle of Mineola; grandchild, John Stalsworth and wife Allison of Dallas; two great-grandchildren, Daphney Stalsworth and Theiya Stalsworth; and numerous other relatives and friends.
